Born in Seoul, South Korea, Jaeil You grew up in China, Czech Republic, and United States, being exposed to changing environments and artists. His experiences of living in different metropolises introduced him to the broader art world and people.
Influenced and supported by both his father, who wanted to become an artist, and his uncle, who is an architect, Jaeil showed an early interest in art. His wide-ranging interest in art and design took on focus during his studies at Pratt institute in New York, directing him to jewelry and object design.
Jaeil himself states “I want to create arts that don't have boundaries”. 
Jaeil was voted as an Art & Design ambassador and translator in his high school for “The Great Festival of Creativity” in Shanghai 2015, inaugurated by the Duke of Cambridge. In 2016 and 2017, he worked as a wall painting artist and spacial designer in “Ihwa Mural Village” in South Korea, recovering destroyed wall paintings and designing space for the "Lock Museum". In 2021, he gathered with silversmiths in South Korea, crafting metal parts for the artist James Jean’s 3D figure series “Maze”, the collaboration with the K-POP group BTS at “The Hive” Agency in Seoul. He graduated from Pratt Institute in 2022, developed his proficiency in the brand "Title of Work" as a Senior Jeweler / Designer. In his present days, he is cooporating with the brand "Oui Benebene" as a product design associate, designing lamps and traditional play-kits. 

After returning to Seoul, Jaeil is working as a Jeweler / Designer in the city of inspirations, seeking for his future path.
